FIRST OFFICIAL ACTS

Instead of listing just the names of the first groom and bride, the first child baptized, those young people first confirmed and the first death, I am including additional information so that those individuals are not just a number in our first Book of Records.

 

The first recorded marriage at Immanuel:

Frank Rudolf Braasch, son of William Braasch and Emilie nee Schley, born April 17, 1853, Mayville, Dodge Co., Wisconsin and Wilhelmine Frine Derika Beyer, daughter of Carl Beyer and Friederika nee Kastner, born October 25, 1859, Williamstown, Dodge Co., Wisconsin were married on May 26, 1878 in Wilberton, Fayette Co., Illinois, by G. Meier, pastor.  Witnesses were Emil Beyer and Marie Braasch.

Their first child, Maria Louisa Wilhelmina Braasch, was born April 30, 1879 and baptized at Immanuel on May 18, 1879.  Her sponsors were:  Wilhelm Braasch, Maria Beyer and Maria Braasch.

Frank and Wilhelmina's family consisted of the following children:  Maria, Anna, Gustav Carl, Bertha A., Emil, Christina, Mathilda, Eleanor, Anna #2, and Robert.

The Frank Braasch family moved from this area to the Altamont, Illinois area by 1892.

Frank and Wilhemine, as well as Frank's parents, are all buried at St. Paul Lutheran Church, ALC, Altamont, Illinois.  Wilhemine's parents are buried at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shobonier, Illinois.

 

The first child baptized at Immanuel was:

Wilhelmina Elizabetha Bertha Krug daughter, of Wilhelm and Louisa Kratzman Krug, born September 24, 1877 and baptized on November 19, 1977.  Her sponsors were:  Wilhelm Fellwock, Elizabeth Krug and Bertha Drews.

Bertha died December 11, 1882 and was buried on December 13, 1882 with the stillborn child of Carl and Carolina Krumpff Schukar.

William and Louise had eight more children baptized here at Immanuel as follows:  Ida Louisa Rosalia, Augusta Martha Ella, Friedrich Martin, Julius Bernhard, Carl Wilhelm Georg, Friedrich Wilhelm, Wilhelmine Elisabeth
